The pianist with the beautiful purple turban was delightful and a joy to listen to. Excellent from the time we entered to the time we left. I highly recommend.

“Beautiful Estate Property!”

Open since last December, this new restaurant is a hike from town and a long and expensive trip from Paradise Island. The building is lovely, funky but tasteful and a treat for all the senses. The staff is responsive and will have stronger skill sets when the mammoth west island Bahamas Hotel project is completed next December. A wonderful, if remote choice now, this elegant site will be impossible to book next winter! Nice fish as would be expected, reasonable and diverse wine offerings, right priced but not inexpensive.

“Sapodilla – expensive but worth it”

We have noticed this new restaurant when driving past it on a number of occasions since we arrived back in Nassau. It is somewhat off the beaten track and the spectacular building is set in lovely. well maintained gardens. At the property gate we were politely greeted and our name recognized from the reservation list. By the time we reached the restaurant entrance, there was a staff member to take us in and seat us in the lounge (our choice) for a cocktail. A steel band was quietly (yes, quietly) playing. The music throughout the evening alternated between the steel band and a pianist and, occasionally, the two music sources were imaginatively combined.

The real reason – eating – was however the climax. The menu is not a tome but represents most normal and local dishes as well as some specialty items. The wine list is extensive but, again, not daunting. The service was superb and continued until we were safely back in a car to take us home.

This was our first visit to what the Maitre d’ modestly advised us was the best restaurant in Nassau, and we cannot help but agree. We will certainly return – frequently!
